Andrea King-Smith, ENP our founder and highly experienced public safety leader, has been at the forefront of driving innovation and progress in the 9-1-1 industry for over 15 years. Her journey began as a member of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, where she served in the Communication Bureau, fulfilling various crucial roles such as 9-1-1 Call Taker and Dispatch Specialist, Communications Training Officer, and Operations Supervisor.

Throughout her career, Andrea has consistently championed transformation and cultivated her leadership skills. She is a proud alumna of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Sheriff's Leadership Series via the Institute of Executive Development, where she honed her strategic and visionary abilities. Additionally, Andrea has completed Dale Carnegie’s Effective Communications and Human Relations program, further enhancing her interpersonal skills.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Andrea has a deep passion for using her expertise to elevate the 9-1-1 industry. She firmly believes in the power of diversity, equity, and inclusion as drivers of positive change. As co-chair of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Special Committee within the National Emergency Number Association (NENA), Andrea actively works to advocate for diversity and foster inclusive work environments in the 9-1-1 sector.

Andrea is also an engaged member of the Association of Public Safety Communications Officials (APCO), where she has previously served on the Young Professionals committee. Her commitment to APCO extends to her involvement with the Nevada chapter, where she held executive positions as Secretary and Second Vice President.

Furthermore, Andrea's passion lies in empowering women in 9-1-1 and advocating for diversity in the industry. She believes that by creating inclusive work environments, we can not only foster equitable communities but also provide better emergency services to the diverse populations served by 9-1-1.
